Larimar Vintage Medallion Ring in 925 Sterling Silver
A domed silver medallion set with a central Larimar cabochon and a ring of smaller ones around it, the whole face worked with beading and fine detail. It is unapologetically vintage in feel, closer to an heirloom dress ring than anything modern.
Larimar is a blue variety of pectolite found in the Dominican Republic. Gathering several cabochons onto one face means you see the material's full range at once, from deeper blue at the centre to paler, milkier stones around the edge.
At around 5.2 grams this is the heaviest piece in the collection. It covers a good part of the finger and is built for occasions rather than desk work.
In Caribbean and crystal tradition Larimar is associated with the sea and sky, the throat chakra and calm communication. These are traditional associations rather than demonstrated effects.

Care
Larimar is relatively soft at 4.5 to 5 on the Mohs scale, and a face this raised catches on fabric easily. Remove before swimming, showering and exercise, clean with a soft dry brush to reach the detailing, and store away from harder stones. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and prolonged sunlight.
