Larimar Rectangle Pendant Necklace in 925 Sterling Silver
A rectangular Larimar cabochon with softly cut corners, held in a plain silver bezel and hung from a fine chain. There is nothing else to it, which is why the stone's own pattern gets to do the talking.
Larimar is a blue variety of pectolite found in the Dominican Republic. A flat rectangular face shows the material honestly, with the white veining and shifts between pale and deeper blue visible across the whole surface. Every pendant is different.
The whole piece weighs around 3.1 grams, so it sits lightly and works as well under a collar as over one.
In Caribbean and crystal tradition Larimar is associated with the sea and sky, the throat chakra and calm communication. These are traditional associations rather than demonstrated effects.
- Stone: Rectangular natural Larimar cabochon, Dominican in origin
- Metal: 925 sterling silver, rhodium plated
- Setting: Plain bezel, solitaire pendant
- Chain: Fine sterling silver cable chain
- Weight: approximately 3.1 g
Care
Larimar is relatively soft at 4.5 to 5 on the Mohs scale. Remove before swimming and showering, put it on after perfume and hairspray, clean with a soft damp cloth, and store flat in a pouch so the chain does not tangle. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and prolonged sunlight.
