Larimar Medallion Statement Ring in 925 Sterling Silver
A domed medallion of a ring: one round Larimar cabochon at the centre, smaller Larimar set around it, and pavé sparkle filling the space between. It reads as vintage costume jewellery in the best sense, generous and unapologetic, while the stones themselves are the real thing.
Larimar is a blue variety of pectolite found in the Dominican Republic. Because it forms naturally, the cabochons in a single ring will not match each other exactly. The slight shifts in blue and white across the face are what separate natural stone from moulded imitation, and they are worth looking for rather than worrying about.
At around 5.2 grams this is the heaviest piece in the Larimar range and sits high on the finger, so it works best as the only ring on the hand.
In Caribbean and crystal tradition Larimar is associated with the sea and sky, the throat chakra and calm communication. These are traditional associations rather than demonstrated effects.
