Larimar Heart Twisted Band Ring in 925 Sterling Silver
A heart-cut Larimar raised in prongs above a band that twists and braids back on itself, with small zircon worked into the strands. Where a plain heart ring can feel a little sweet, the texture here gives it some backbone.
Larimar is a blue variety of pectolite found in the Dominican Republic. Cut into a heart, the natural mix of turquoise and white sits differently on every stone, so the piece you receive will be its own.
At around 1.7 grams this is one of the lightest rings in the collection, which suits a design with this much detail. It reads delicate rather than loud.
In Caribbean and crystal tradition Larimar is associated with the sea and sky, the throat chakra and calm communication. These are traditional associations rather than demonstrated effects.
- Stone: Natural heart-cut Larimar, Dominican in origin
- Accents: Zircon set into the twisted band
- Metal: 925 sterling silver, rhodium plated
- Setting: Prong
- Weight: approximately 1.7 g
Care
Larimar is relatively soft at 4.5 to 5 on the Mohs scale, and the point of a heart cut is its most vulnerable spot. Remove before swimming, showering and exercise, clean with a soft damp cloth, and store away from harder stones. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and prolonged sunlight.
