Larimar Filigree Teardrop Earrings in 925 Sterling Silver
Openwork sterling silver teardrops, cut through with a fine vine and floral pattern, each one anchored at the base by a small round Larimar cabochon. The cut-outs do the work of catching light; the Larimar supplies the one note of colour, sitting low where it shows most as the earring swings.
Larimar is a blue variety of pectolite found in the Dominican Republic. Because it forms naturally, the two cabochons will differ slightly in their blue and white, which is the honest signature of a real stone rather than a moulded one.
They hang from French hook wires at around 6.1 grams for the pair, giving them noticeable presence without weighing on the lobe.
In Caribbean and crystal tradition Larimar is associated with the sea and sky, the throat chakra and calm communication. These are traditional associations rather than demonstrated effects.

Care
Larimar is relatively soft at 4.5 to 5 on the Mohs scale. Remove before swimming and showering, clean with a soft damp cloth, taking care around the openwork, and store in a pouch away from harder stones. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and prolonged sunlight.
