Larimar Wire Wrapped Drop Earrings in 925 Sterling Silver
Larimar nuggets held in a cage of hand-bent sterling silver wire rather than a formal setting, hung from hook fittings so they swing. The wrapping leaves most of the stone exposed, including its raw edges, which is the opposite approach to the polished cabochons elsewhere in the collection.
Larimar is a blue variety of pectolite found in the Dominican Republic. Because these stones keep more of their natural shape, the variation between pairs is greater than usual: some read almost aqua, others carry more white through them.
Two options are available. The longer drop measures around 35 mm and weighs about 4.8 grams the pair; the shorter one is around 19 mm and roughly 1.5 grams.
In Caribbean and crystal tradition Larimar is associated with the sea and sky, the throat chakra and calm communication. These are traditional associations rather than demonstrated effects.

Care
Larimar is relatively soft at 4.5 to 5 on the Mohs scale, and an exposed stone has less metal protecting it. Remove before swimming and showering, clean with a soft damp cloth, and store in a pouch away from harder stones. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and prolonged sunlight.
