Larimar Openwork Teardrop Earrings in 925 Sterling Silver
A teardrop of sterling silver pierced with a star and scrollwork pattern, with a small Larimar cabochon set at the base where the metal narrows. The cutwork means light passes straight through the earring, so it looks far lighter than its size suggests.
Larimar is a blue variety of pectolite found in the Dominican Republic. Used in a small accent like this, the stone acts as a single point of colour against all that worked silver, and its natural tone varies from piece to piece.
Each teardrop measures roughly 22 mm long and 15 mm across, hung from a hook wire.
In Caribbean and crystal tradition Larimar is associated with the sea and sky, the throat chakra and calm communication. These are traditional associations rather than demonstrated effects.

Care
Larimar is relatively soft at 4.5 to 5 on the Mohs scale. Remove before swimming and showering, clean with a soft dry brush to reach inside the cutwork, and store in a pouch away from harder stones. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and prolonged sunlight.
