Larimar Ocean Wave Pendant Necklace in 925 Sterling Silver

A cresting wave cut from Larimar, sitting inside an open sterling silver circle. The stone does most of the work: Larimar is a blue variety of pectolite from the Dominican Republic, and its natural fade from turquoise into white already looks like surf breaking into foam, so the design simply frames what the stone was already doing.

Because each cabochon forms naturally, the wave in your pendant will break a little differently from anyone else's. Slight variation in colour and pattern is the signature of real stone.

The pendant is light at around 2.3 grams and hangs on an adjustable sterling silver chain, so it layers easily with longer pieces or sits alone at the collarbone.

In Caribbean and crystal tradition Larimar is associated with the sea and sky, the throat chakra and calm communication. These are traditional associations rather than demonstrated effects.

Care

Larimar is relatively soft at 4.5 to 5 on the Mohs scale. Remove before swimming and showering, clean with a soft damp cloth, and store flat in a pouch away from harder stones. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and prolonged sunlight.
