Larimar Ocean Wave Drop Earrings in 925 Sterling Silver
A breaking wave carved in Larimar, curling inside an open sterling silver circle. It is the most literal the stone ever gets: Larimar is a blue variety of pectolite from the Dominican Republic, and its natural drift of turquoise into white already looks like shallow water meeting surf. Each pair is cut from stone that formed on its own terms, so the wave pattern differs slightly between them.
They hang from French hook wires and move as you do, with the open circle keeping the whole drop light at around 3 grams for the pair. Easy with a swimsuit and a linen shirt, and quietly at home with something more formal.
In Caribbean and crystal tradition Larimar is associated with the sea and sky, the throat chakra and calm communication. These are traditional associations rather than demonstrated effects.
- Stone: Natural Larimar, Dominican in origin, carved in a wave motif
- Metal: 925 sterling silver, rhodium plated
- Style: Drop earrings on French hook wires
- Weight: approximately 3 g
Care
Larimar is relatively soft at 4.5 to 5 on the Mohs scale. Remove before swimming and showering, clean with a soft damp cloth, and store in a pouch away from harder stones. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and prolonged sunlight.
